We are closed on Sunday 1 January New Year's Day , Friday 14 April Good Friday , Monday 25 December Christmas Day and Tuesday 26 December Boxing Day in We are open but will close at 6pm on Monday 2 January New Year's Day additional day , Thursday 26 January Australia Day , Monday 13 March Labour Day , Monday 17 April Easter Monday , Tuesday 25 April Anzac Day , Monday 12 June Queen's Birthday and Tuesday 7 November Melbourne Cup.

We are open as usual on Saturday 15 April Saturday before Easter Sunday , Sunday 16 April Easter Sunday and Friday 29 September AFL Grand Final. There are separated bike lanes in both directions on Swanston and La Trobe streets. You'll find bike racks on and near the corner of Swanston and La Trobe streets, Swanston and Little Lonsdale streets.

Getting here Public transport Train — Melbourne Central station is directly opposite the Library's Swanston Street entrance. Country travellers can transfer to metropolitan trains at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations.
